Junior Youth Theatre 1 Performance Groups
We use games, warm-ups and drama exercises to enable everyone to take part. The sessions focus on team building, giving everyone a voice and a chance to take part creatively.
The groups will work towards a devised performance, using the drama activities and exercises from the weekly workshops to create a piece of theatre. Each group is led by two experienced theatre workshop tutors or core members of staff and a team of volunteer assistants to devise, rehearse and perform a sharing of their work in LYT’s new creative hub on Lewisham High Street.
To be held on:
Tuesdays OR Saturdays
Janaury – May with performances on 1st June 2024

Learn more about the world of theatre with this short, fun project.
If you want to discover more about acting, meet new people and try out new ways of creating theatre, then the workshop group is for you. Through attending the weekly workshops, and having the opportunity to see a theatrical production, you will develop your acting skills, teamwork, and creativity.
Workshops include warm-ups, drama games, and fun acting exercises.

How do I take part?
To take part in Junior Youth Theatre 1 you need to:
- Be aged between 8-11 and be keen to take part
- Live or learn in the London Borough of Lewisham
- Attend no other after school drama group
- Priority is given to those who attend state/free schools, academies or home schooling
